Looking to plan for a beautiful fall weekend or spend Fall Break exploring? Portage High School students share their favorite places to visit.

The City of Portage’s annual Harvest Festival in Founders’ Square was listed as a must visit. The festival will be held Saturday, October 1st and will feature local vendors, craftors, and pony rides.

Many Portage Indians describe County Line Orchard as their go-to place for fall activities. The Orchard continues to draw visitors with its fall favorites. Patrons can expect to see the usual attractions, like the Orchard’s famous pumpkin patch, apple orchard, and corn maze.

Local farms were frequently mentioned as well. Many recommend Johnson’s down Route 6 to get fresh produce and flowers, while Harvest Tyme Family Farm in Lowell, Indiana is the place to go for pumpkin patches, amusement rides, and a corn maze.

Portage Indians are excited for a fall full of fright. Local haunted houses are popping up, including local favorite Haunted Hills Hospital in Merrillville. Others say Fright Fest at Six Flags in Gurnee, Illinois was on their fall bucket lists.

Portage Indians can’t help but show their Portage Pride. Students are excited to see Indian football, soccer, cross country and track, and volleyball underway. A full list of Portage High School sporting events can be found here.
